Algae problem in Sodus Bay.
Thought you might be interested in this report regarding the algae problem in Sodus Bay. No impact on Sprongs Bluff yet, except the weekend boaters who usually party at the sandbar in Sodus Bay are now partying at the sandbar out in front of Sprongs Bluff.

1st Annual Sprongs Bluff Progressive Party
Everyone had a fantastic time at the 1st Annual Progressive Party. Wendy & Dave Fitch planned and started off the Party at 6pm with GREAT success. Next onto Nancy Fiorantino's at 7pm. The next stop was at the Cooper/Bush Compound at 8pm. Finally off to Joe Holla at 9pm. It was so much fun that some of us stayed till 11pm. All 4 stops were a great time. We were all shuttle to each location by the Sprongs Bluff Taxi Service. Please go to the Sprongs Bluff's website and look at all the photos added.

Coast Guard Checking Out Sprongs Bluff?
This US Coast Guard ship has been anchored off Sprongs Bluff all day and in fact is still there at 11:00 tonight. I can see the lights from our window. Maybe we are under watch for suspicious fireworks activity???

The 4th of July Parade
Everyone had a great time for the 4th of July. The Parade was so much fun. The size was smaller then last year, but there were many more spectators. There were over 50 people in the parade and more then 110 spectators. What fun it was celebrating this year.

Fourth of July weekend at Sprongs Bluff
The following details are confirmed for the Fourth of July weekend at Sprongs Bluff:
The annual meeting will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 3rd in the "Townhall". If you have agenda items that you would like included, please contact our president, Doug Riter, at 585-383-9017 or driter77@yahoo.com
The parade will be held on SUNDAY, July 4 at 2:00 p.m.
IF we collect enough money to have a fireworks display, it will be held on Sunday, July 4th at dusk. I'm sure most of us don't have a clue how expensive this event has become. Last year the fireworks display cost $800.00 (and would have cost much more than that, but our Fireworks Captain, Gov'nor Bill Smith, has a friend in the business). The donations made towards the cost of the fireworks did not come close to covering the cost. If you have an opinion to share regarding the future of Sprongs Bluff fireworks displays, please let me (or one of the other officers) know. If you are in favor of having a display this year and want to donate, please give your donation to Manfred Lichti before Sunday, June 27 - - - or let him know how much you will donate when you arrive for that weekend and we will trust your "credit" :-) Manfred's email is m.lichti@lichti.com Of course, if we decide that the donations collected are not enough to warrant doing the display your money will be returned. We will keep you posted on the status of this event so that you can make plans with your friends and family.

Sprongs Bluff Road Project
On Saturday June 5th there was a great group of people working on the North/South road filling potholes. This year we had a great roller which helped speed up the process. The road is much nicer to drive on now. Thanks go to Ed Saphar, Tom Garlipp, Bob Colvin, Mark Strodel, Doug Riter, Manfred & Amy Lichti, Jimmy Riter and Scott Lucieer for working on the road. Thanks to Bev Garlipp and Miriam Scardinale for the Refreshment Stand. Special thanks go out to Bob Knorr for delivering and returning the Roller.
Just remember a smoother road does not mean that we can drive faster. The speed limit is still 15mph.

Check Out the New Sign!!
Thanks to Mark Strodel and Sarah Parsons for creating our sign, and to Rick Bush and Bob Cooper for installing the sign, and to Ray Sheldon for allowing us to put the sign on his property. We look quite official - - - friends and family should have a much easier time of finding us (and of course should the need arise, emergency vehicles will be able to find us).

Memorial Day Weekend Party
Everyone had a great time at the Memorial Day Weekend Party.
About 30 people showed up. There was lots of food and plenty of laugh's. What a great way to start off the Summer at the Bluff.

ANNUAL MEETING
Our annual meeting is scheduled for Saturday, July 3rd. We will have several reports about our ongoing efforts to improve life at the Bluff, vote on our new bylaws, elect officers for the coming year and have the chance to socialize with the members of our association. Discussions are underway about the parade and fireworks. Please let Bev know your preference for dates (Sat. or Sunday). Speaking of fireworks, it was appreciated that MANY of our members donated to the fireworks show. Unfortunately however, last year’s donations fell far short of the actual cost. We would like to get donations up front and then will spend that amount on fireworks this year. Manfred Lichti has been kind enough to collect any funds people are willing to contribute. Please get donations to Manfred Lichti by the end of June.
